It is so interesting to read the results of this archaeological research on your family farm. That this may have been a ceremonial site makes it even more compelling.

So, you've used the Substack posts to build a book? That's also what Heather Cox Richardson with her most recent book; you're in good company! Congratulations on getting the book published.

Actually I had finished the draft of the manuscript before I began here on Substack. I came here because I wanted to dive back into the research and expand it beyond the Kling and Kakaygeesick family history. Some of the research that didn't make it into the book got me started here and then I've been off and running with new material. Writing up my deeper dives into the history and archives is more interesting to read in short doses for me as a reader. Heather Cox Richardson, whom I adore, has mastered this platform. I think her books are different than her daily columns. I did find the support and encouragement here to persevere during the process of seeking an agent and then a publisher. Readers here convinced me there is an audience who would be interested. You are a consistent and devoted reader and I have greatly appreciated that. I'm fascinating by your own project which takes a much longer view -- in archeological time -- of history on your family farm. Thanks for all your encouragement.
